Macbeth Blog Entry #5

I disagree with the idea that evil means justify honorable ends because those who do good things to right their wrongs doesn't help them because they still did they things that they did and that won't help themselves eternally. I believe that those that do terrible things have one chance of redemption which is forgiveness. This would mean that they would ask for forgiveness from the person that they did wrong against. If someone killed someone they would be far from forgiveness. Those who seek forgiveness and are forgiven can be redeemed.

I have had some times where I have done something wrong and was forgiven. This is only possible if they seek out forgiveness. Sadly the times where I have not sought out forgiveness for my wrong doings, I was not forgiven. Deeds cannot help those that have done something wrong. A person can do as much as they want to help get forgiveness, but they will not receive any.

Their is only one way to be ridden of your wrongs and that is to seek out forgiveness and receive it. If a person does not receive forgiveness, they are not redeemed for that wrongdoing. Any wrongdoings that are committed against another person must be forgiven unless they don't want forgiveness. Any time that I do something wrong I strive to receive forgiveness unless I am not sorry for what I did. The end point is that those who don't want to be forgiven will not seek forgiveness.

Blog #4 Dark Imagery

There are several types of dark imagery used in Macbeth, but there are some that stand out the most. These include that stormy and dark imagery that is used when the witches are in the story. These witches are the dark characters of the story and they are the causes for most of the dark parts the of the story. The witches are dark and brooding and I believe that they will play a massive role in the end of the story. Another form of dark imagery is when the horses of Duncan go wild after having been perfectly tame animals. The third form of dark imagery is that the night that Macbeth kills Duncan the night is stormy and in an evil type of imagery.

Shakespeare uses dark imagery throughout the play in my opinion to show how the story is going to be a dark play with many deaths. This is how he shows how the play will be a very depressing one. It seems that there will be more deaths throughout the rest of the story. It seems that if this pattern in mood continues the death of Macbeth will be very dramatic. This will probably be caused by Siward like it was in actual history. I'd like to see some more of the dark imagery as it adds an extra layer of depth to the story.

An example of modern day media that uses dark imagery would be in movies like The Dark Knight which uses a ton of dark imagery throughout the entire movie. The joker is basically like the witches in Macbeth because when he comes in the mood of the scene becomes very dark. Throughout the film it portrays the joker as a character like the witches. The main character who is batman is commonly has the portrayal as a character like Macbeth except for a few differences that can be very noticeable.

How does power corrupt some people?

Power can corrupt some people depending on how strong their will is. If a person does not have a strong will, they will not be as strong against corruption. The qualities that a person requires to be a "hero" includes that they need to have a strong will which means that they have to be able to resist temptation. These people also need to be very smart which contributes to a strong will, but has its own qualities in itself.
Heroes need to be able to resist temptation throughout the entire story. Another quality that is required is to be able to resist corruption throughout the entire story. These characters are also strong leaders and are often considered role models for people. They need to be the type of person who is able to make the right choice in the right moment which will better help the rest of the characters throughout the story.
An example of this could be the president. He has to make decisions quickly that has the intention of helping the people. Some presidents could become corrupt with the power that they have and make bad choices that could ruin the economy or the country. The good presidents lead the country into a time of prosperity and helps the country stay successful through trade and politics. A good leader is a leader that will chose peace instead of conflict. These are the people that could be considered "heroes".

Macbeth - Blog Entry #2

I think that Macbeth and Banquo are good partners in the story, I think that they are good friends and will remain good friends throughout the story. I think that Banquo praises Macbeth. Macbeth is humble because he did not originally want to replace the Thane of Cawdor because he was still alive, but once he found out that the former Thane was a traitor he was fine. I think that he will not completely enjoy his new job as Thane of Cawdor for this reason.

To be a good friend it takes many qualities. One quality would be that the person has to have several things in common with the person that they are becoming friends with. Another quality would be that they have to want to be your friend as well. The third quality would be that you should have is that you are willing to talk to your friend and be there for your friend when they need help. If a person has these qualities they would make a good friend.

My friend and I have a strong friendship, but I'm not sure it will last forever. Our friendship contains the qualities that I have described. We both love the same movies and the same things, although he isn't a fan of baseball. My friend has the qualities to be a great friend and will hopefully remain my friend for a long time. We have had this strong friendship since sixth grade.
